What drew you to aviation?: Life long endeavor
How long have you been involved in aviation education?: Initial CFI obtained at age 22, spent 1.5 years full time CFI, then also as a Captain Check Airman for a regional airline. Pilot mentor my whole career, now back to my roots as a GA pilot and instructor.
What's your favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: instilling new and relevant information into students and progressing pilots
What's your least favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: Students/Pilots who don't come prepared to learn. Or who are not opened minded enough to accept new information.
Do you have a memorable aviation experience you'd like to share?: a few, one was my Commercial Cross Country flight from KDXR to KSRQ and back again. Amazing east coast of the USA flight!. Another, picking up a used S300c helicopter in the middle of Texas and flying it all the way back to KSPG over the course of 3 days, 9 legs (fuel stops), and 17+ hours of flight time, at altitudes not exceeding 500' most of the time. As a commercial Airline pilot, the numerous POLAR flights and long distant flights through numerous time zones and flight conditions. Every one amazing and different.
Why did you join SAFE?: For the liability protection offered by the insurance, and for the resources available to members
Who are your role models in aviation?: Numerous Captains and FO's I have flown with and learned from over the years.
Anything else you'd like to add?: If you are not learning, SOMETHING, every flight you take, then you are just not paying attention.
