Q & A

What drew you to aviation?: I've been drawn to aviation since I was a child. I tell this story now but realize times were much different. I was attending a dog show with my parents as we did many weekends. Of course, I grew bored and would wander off. One of my wanderings ended me up at a small airport where I was offered a ride on a small, two-seat aircraft. Who was I to say no? From that time forward I was hooked!

How long have you been involved in aviation education?: I passed my CFII check ride in 2006. I have also participated in teaching and organizing FAA Wings events.

What's your favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: My favorite part is taking zero time people, watching them progress from that zero time to the PPL, to an instrument rating, and beyond. I have several students who have gone on to fly in the military and commercially.

What's your least favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: The cost. Costs have gone wild and don't seem to be slowing down in the rise.

Why did you join SAFE?: I re-joined SAFE because I am getting back into the aviation realm. I look forward to my BFR, IPC, and a check ride to re-establish my CFII. The educational items and opportunities available on SAFE drew me back.
