Q & A

What drew you to aviation?: The views!

How long have you been involved in aviation education?: I am a recent CFI: March 2019, but I have been producing my club's Newsletter for 6 years.

What's your favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: Explaining complex concepts in terms that can be understood and applied to actually flying.

What's your least favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: Canceling lessons due to weather.

Why did you join SAFE?: I wanted to join a community that would help me continue my aviation education and support me in that pursuit.

What would you like to see change in aviation?: The weather? Consolidation of resources. We now have many, many places to look for the answer to questions: ACs, handbooks, AIM, FAR, etc. It would be great if these resources were more coordinated or consolidated.

Any suggestions on how the above might be accomplished?: Take what's in the AIM and the ACs and put it in a handbook. If it's too much information, then perhaps divide by training level.

Any accomplishments in, or noteworthy contributions to aviation and/or aviation education you'd like to mention?: Just trying to make every flight as safe as possible.

Who are your role models in aviation?: Charlie Skelton
