What drew you to aviation?: The Aviation Merit Badge while in scouting

How long have you been involved in aviation education?: I earned the CFI license in December of 1999.

What's your favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: Sharing my passion for aviation while having a meaningful impact on another person's life.

What's your least favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: paperwork

Do you have a memorable aviation experience you'd like to share?: When I was promoted from an aircraft maintenance assistant to a co-pilot on a King Air 200, I was notified by receiving a training class date at CAE in my company mailbox. I remember opening the letter and thinking that this is what it must feel like to win the lottery.

Why did you join SAFE?: I enjoy teaching and mentoring people. SAFE is means for me to share and be shared with new means for promoting aviation knowledge.

What would you like to see change in aviation?: Smarter regulation that will make aviation more affordable without compromising safety.

Any suggestions on how the above might be accomplished?: I believe the FAA is currently working on new legislation that will enhance the affordability of GA.

Any accomplishments in, or noteworthy contributions to aviation and/or aviation education you'd like to mention?: I'm regularly published in King Air Magazine on insurance coverage topics to educate the insurance buyer.
