Q & A

What drew you to aviation?: My dad is a private pilot and always took me flying with him. I knew since I was young that I would fly airplanes.

How long have you been involved in aviation education?: I started out as an advanced ground instructor, then moved to flight instruction and began to specialize in tail wheel and multi engine instruction.
All in all I have been instructing for 3 years.

What's your favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: I love helping other pilots achieve their dreams, whatever they may be!

What's your least favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: In my current position I have a lot of paperwork I must complete and it tends to leave me inside watching people fly through my windows.

Do you have a memorable aviation experience you'd like to share?: One of my favorite moments was during a tail wheel checkout. We flew to a small grass strip with an aviation museum and just so happened to be flying at the same time as their B17. After we both landed the pilots even showed us around the airplane!

Why did you join SAFE?: I joined SAFE because I believe in a community of passionate instructors and pilots and want to instruct to the standards they set forth.

What would you like to see change in aviation?: I would like aviation to be more accessible to people. One of the saddest things is watching someones passion for flying die because they cannot afford it or think it unattainable.
