Q & A

What drew you to aviation?: 3rd dimension / the view / the constant challenge

How long have you been involved in aviation education?: 7 years

What's your favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: to see the eyes of someone that understands, and his "new" actions

What's your least favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: admin work

Do you have a memorable aviation experience you'd like to share?: flew into an airport just ahead of an incoming cold front. Went to the bathroom, started-up and taxied to the holding point for departure. Within the minutes that went by, it started snowing so hard, that after a 180 on the taxiway, and shutting down close to a hangar, an inch of snow was on the wings…a very humbling experience.

Why did you join SAFE?: support an association that promotes education in aviation

What would you like to see change in aviation?: more emphasis on basic training quality : fundamentals need to be well seated, including basics of "command" in order to build more complex concepts over them.

Any suggestions on how the above might be accomplished?: More support by mentoring and coaching basic VFR SEP instructor training

Who are your role models in aviation?: The instructors that went above & beyond to teach me on ground as well as in the air
