Q & A

What drew you to aviation?: I have had a life long love for aviation. I have worked as an Aviation Maintenance Technician specializing in avionics for the last 20 years.I earned my A&P in 2009, my Inspection Authorization in 2013, and NCATT AET in 2016. I taught at an FAA part 147 school for a few years and realized that I loved helping people find their love for it as well. I became a private pilot in 2016, and an aircraft owner in 2017. I got my instrument rating this year and I am currently working on single engine commercial and CFI concurrently.

How long have you been involved in aviation education?: 3 years

What's your favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: Helping pilots/owners attain goals. The ability to take self improvement as far as you are willing to go in this industry.

What's your least favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: All of the paperwork!

Do you have a memorable aviation experience you'd like to share?: My first flight was with my Grandfather at age 5 or 6. I am pretty sure that is where the bug got me.

Why did you join SAFE?: I want to be the best instructor I can be.

What would you like to see change in aviation?: Regulator road blocks

Who are your role models in aviation?: My Granddad, Bob Hoover, Mike Busch, and Todd Shellnut.
