Q & A
What drew you to aviation?: I've been around and involved in aviation since a very early age. I have loved to fly since before my feet would reach the rudder pedals, so it was never a question what I would do as a career.
How long have you been involved in aviation education?: 20 years
What's your favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: Introducing people to aviation for the first time, and helping aspiring Instructors learn to impart their passion for flying to others.
Why did you join SAFE?: T further my own professional development, and to gain the insight and resources available to help my students.
What would you like to see change in aviation?: A better understanding of the effects of glass cockpit training at the early stages of training, to prevent an over reliance on automation.
Any suggestions on how the above might be accomplished?: The development of and emphasis on exercises designed to strength skills that could under develop, because they're provided by cockpit automation (i.e. positional awareness and GPS).
