On July 26, 2010 the thunderous sound of more than two dozen DC-3s and C-47s will be heard over the airport at AirVenture 2010. This 75th anniversary celebration has been dubbed “The Last Time” and will be one of the main events at Oshkosh. SAFE member and Master Instructor Russ Still has been working with others to put this historic event together for several months.

“This is going to be fantastic,” Still said. “The formation fly-in will bring the sounds of over 50 radial engines to the ears of spectators and the sky will be filled with one of the most recognized airplane types in history.” Thirty-five airplanes have registered for the event, and many more are expected to attend. According to Still, “It’s highly unlikely that such a large reunion of DC-3s will ever occur again.” To see a list of registered aircraft, visit the celebration’s website: www.TheLastTime.org.
