Q & A

What drew you to aviation?: I love the sky and wanted to touch a cloud.

How long have you been involved in aviation education?: I have been a CFI since 1985.

What's your favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: I enjoy seeing my students learn, understand, then apply what they know in all aspects of their flying. I love to see "the lightbulb" moments.

What's your least favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: I teach at a university and see many of my students graduate and to great and wonderful things. However, there are so many that I wonder about how their careers have progressed after they graduate and wish they would drop me line on FB or my work email. Certain students stick with you, much like favorite teachers do. As a teacher, I learn much from my students.

Do you have a memorable aviation experience you'd like to share?: Lots! but it would crash the website. Come to one of my classes or seminars

Why did you join SAFE?: I love to teach and share with others-fellow teachers and pilots.

What would you like to see change in aviation?: I would like to see us, as pilots, do a better job in educating the non-flying public in the benefits of GA.

Any suggestions on how the above might be accomplished?: Getting out in the public and sharing at the local level.

Anything else you'd like to add?: Flying is a tool to help us discover who we are.
