What drew you to aviation?: I was born May 5, 1961, the day Alan B. Shepard became the first American in space. My father was part of the team that designed the SR-71 ejection system, the parachute recovery systems for Apollo and the Space Shuttle’s solid rocket boosters and working on the F-117. I grew up around the space program and aviation so it’s in my blood.

How long have you been involved in aviation education?: Since 2000.

What’s your favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: Being there for my student’s first solo!

What’s your least favorite part of what you do in aviation education?: Students who think they know it all and have been there – done that.

Any accomplishments in, or noteworthy contributions to aviation and/or aviation education you’d like to mention?: 1-26 Association Per Ardua Award for 1996.
